DI-HO 3 (Digital Input - Hologram Output) is a completely integrated system for the production of full colour and animated holographic stereograms from digital computer graphics, photography or video imagery and utilises the very latest computer graphics, liquid crystal on silicon (LCOS) display and motion control technology.

The system consists of three sub-systems.

THE DI-HO COMPUTER GRAPHICS WORKSTATION

A fully specified high-end computer graphics multimedia workstation complete with a high end Nvidia 3D graphics board, a suite of Adobe imaging software and the latest large format stereoscopic monitor.

THE DI-HO MASTERING AND TRANSFERRING SYSTEM

This two-step holographic recording system is capable of automatically recording firstly the initial laser viewable master hologram and then a surface relief master hologram 'transfer' from which the embossing shims are made.

DI-HO Control - advanced software that controls all aspects of the recording process.

A high resolution, high contrast, miniature LCOS panel in a custom designed laser image projection unit. The LCOS screen has an HD resolution of 1920 * 1080 pixels. A 20mm square hologram will have a holographic pixel resolution in excess of 1200 dpi.

A unique space saving design whereby both the mastering and transferring set-ups are cleverly incorporated into the same camera, a simple translating mirror switching between the two.

A unique system of minimising optical distortions caused by mismatches between the master reference beam and transfer replay beam. The same reference/illumination beam and master plate holder is used for both mastering and transferring. Other features incorporated to minimise distortion include an achromatic angled master plate holder with rotational adjustment and a computer controlled scanning reference beam mirror.

THE DI-HO OPTICAL RECOMBINATION SYSTEM

This is an option for the DI-HO 3 mastering and transferring system: a fully featured X-Y recombination system capable of optically recombining full colour holographic stereograms onto 8 X 10 inch photoresist square plates.
