Lightgate P3
The Lightgate P3 has been designed and built specifically for the packaging industry and can make master holograms, diffractive patterns and laser etched images up to the maximum size of commercially available photoresist plates. It was the world's first commercially available large format, high speed digital hologram and diffractive pattern mastering system and won an IHMA Award of Excellence in 2004.
Utilising the same optical technology as Sitech's Lightgate S2 system, the P3 is able to produce extremely sophisticated images and patterns as well as the more traditional patterns such as 'Pillars of Light'. It can record images over very large areas with consistent and bright results thanks to the P3's state-of-the-art auto-focussing system, accurate to less than 1 micron, and the world's leading linear motor motion control system. Tailored for lower resolutions the Lightgate P3's blazingly fast speed can record an 80 square inch (514 sq cm) area of 254 dpi square diffractive pixels in only one hour.
The Lightgate P3 can be supplied with either a more traditional CW Diode Laser or a state-of-the-art UV Pulsed Laser for even higher speeds. Recently added capabilities include mathematically exposed gradient patterns with over 10,000 diffractive angles for ultra smooth large format kinetic images and single-beam laser etching for 'engine turned' type images.
The Lightgate P3 technology is backed up by equally impressive software. Sitech's Lightgate Pattern Maker can create seamless large format patterns with the push of a button and Lightgate Control orchestrates all aspects of the recording process.
Both holographic and laser etched (optical lithography) type features can be incorporated automatically into a single pattern or image.
